Naish Pivot 9 or 10?

North rebel 10m (2015) wind range 12 - 34+ knots for 73kg tt. Fantastic range and stability kite. I kited with it where gusts were till 44 knots, simply that day didnt have another size, but was ok.

So the guy asks specifically about the pivot and you find it prudent to give advice about another kite?

If you are on a surfboard then 9m will be probably better and more equivalent to your current quiver.

What wind speed do you fly your 9 and what’s your weight ?

So you recommend a kite you have not even ridden and know nothing about?
Pivot is already on its 5th edition. Seriously, I'll try the Reddin kite. Girardin is an amazing designer, but this OP is about pull the trigger and asks for specific recommendations on what kite to get now.

He gets in return recommendation on Rebel which isn't at all a wave kite and a non-existing kite isn't going to be very helpful to OP. If we want to be helpful to people here maybe look at the question first?

I weight 85, and my weapon of war is a surf slingshot converter 5.4. My Core Gts3 give me a wind range of 15-25 knots or maybe 28.

I want to be able to ride under 15 knots but I want a fast kite too. I don't like my 12, it's too slow. The size of the waves varies from 2 to 8 feets.

The 10 is interesting for boosting and low end but, is it slow like a 12 and would it allow me to flirt with the 25-28 knots?

I am about the same weight and use the 10m in the 15 - 25 knot range ( twin tip and surfboard) . I don’t think I can go much below 15 knots on a surfboard. The 10 is much faster than my 12 pivot. I got the 10 to have good boosting on the twintip and still have fun on surfboard.

If you want the low end of being in the mid - upper teens then go 10. If you are regularly in the 18-22 knot range then probably go 9m.
I don’t know if the 9 is much faster then the 10.
Also given that you have a 9m maybe 10 is a good addition.

This, maybe the price as well will be better than the Pivot. Most likely the Reedin will share the Pivot DNA with some improvements and more freedom on the design side.

Your "rules" only seem to apply for others. I remeber enough threads where guys were asking for specific kites and you always came around the corner with your Pivots.

You do? Happy to be corrected, but I do not recommend any kites if OP asks for specific kites other than the ones I know of. I know Naish kites and BRM so I can talk to that, but I generally do not inject myself into conversations when people asks about kites I don't know. Happy to be proven wrong on this, but I cannot at all remember doing that.

I too would wait for Reedin kites as as mentioned above. Being they want to be on it for the long run you may find the pricing a bit more in line with reasonable expectations.
