I think this is a pretty cool trick, and I have been kiting for 20 years now.

Makes perfect sense, except for maybe a twist or two in the center lines, the lines are almost always laid out correctly when you wind them up on the bar. All of the problems you get trying to straighten them out come from trying to push the twists to the end.

But the twists are not really twists, because they undo themselves before they reach the end. Meanwhile with the standard technique the ends are flopping around in the wind as you try to work the twists out.

It's not unlike straightening out a rat's nest you might get in your lines after a failed relaunch and/or self-rescue: if you undo the lines from the kite and try to work it out, it can take forever. But if you just leave them attached and get them as straight as possible, then work on getting the loops out, it can be pretty quick and easy.

It's most useful if you're helping someone else get on the water asap. Super easy with two people. Maybe saves a couple minutes. But if you're helping a newb, maybe saves you 5 min+!
