@Shai99,
A bit of topic. I am looking into going to Ras Sudr to kite... But all reviews of the resorts nearby are bad ( bad breakfast, rooms are not clean, poor maintenance, dated hotel rooms etc.). Kitevillage does not exist anymore..... What is your experiance ?. In which resort do you stay if you go to Ras Sudr?.
Cheers

Hey, unfortunately I can't assist, since I have only surfed in dahab and the northern parts, closer to the Israeli border. To go to ras sudar as an Israeli you need to get a special visa for Egypt. From Eilat Down to Sharm its a "free" entrance due to the peace aggrement with Egypt. I do recommend visiting blue lagoon, just a ten minutes boat ride from dahab, and you arrive at this amazing spot, the bluest flat water with 30kts+ winds everyday.

Ras Sudr:
there is a hotel a bit south of the awesome kite lagoons...Matarma Bay Hotel...check the ratings. Owners are kiters if I remember correctly.
Directly at the lagoon not nice.

Hi Guys, I just passed the border Taba from both sides this year and the issue is the following: They do not let to enter the kite to Egypt at all. I had to leave all my gear (2kites, pump, bar) at the custom for all of my stay in Sinai. Fortunately the wind was so weak that I hadn't used my biggest gear in that lightwind (12nm).
Instead it I rented from Soulkiters Dahab a 15nm Cabrinha contra brandnew lightwind machine. I have tested it with my own board and harness which they let me pass... Have fun in this year with kiting on Red Sea, and keep us posted of the situation at the border since we have really cheap flight to Eilat

I am sure not. Kiting is a big tourism business.
And I know people keep going there...we would have heard about it already.
