hi
Planning to visit Egypt in mid June and haven't yet decided the place.
Am thinking either El Gouna or Soma bay.
Has anyone been there before and has any sort of details eg wind conditions/direction , flat water etc
thanks in advance

I went to Soma bay last year in June and am going back this year too. We stayed at the Breakers hotel and kited from 7bft Kite House. It was great with flat water, wind every day and a nice temp - only a couple of really hot days. The wind starts early in the morning and if you are twintipping its best from early through until midday/1pm, then it tends to moderate but still good for big kites or foiling. It is directly offshore at this spot but this means dead flat water in close and there is good rescue cover if you get stuck so no issues there. Definitely recommend it.

soma bay is perfect, only not much life outside the resorts.7bf is the best place around to stay all day and kite, you can stay at breakers or check oasissafaga if you are looking something cheaper and descent, you just have to arrange with a mini bus for daily transportations
