Thanks - great.

I taped the bar because the grip on the sleek carbon surface was poor. Do you think the little pin of your safety release system is strong enough? I have about the same and I am hesitating to use it. Would prefer 4 or even 5 mm diameter of steel for any parts that get the full load.

I had this carbon bar now tested - and it its absolutely solid. I like the fact that it is slightly curved like a banana, this makes winding up the lines easier. I have not yet experienced any downsides from not having a center hole for the center lines.

Yes, i will tape it too, with gloves my arms got tired quickly.
The pin is of an 2002 FS leash, this one is strong enough i hope. It bend a little bit after jumping with the foil. I have to look for cracks. Any suggestions for a solid pin?

TomLutz thanks for the Ali link to the cheap carbon pole

There is a flaw in how your Wichard release is oriented.

With this orientation you have a pull release as I understand.

And we need a push away release.

Thoughts?

No, this is correct. The pull is only for full release - good bye kite (instead of a safety leash). For the safety release there is the red ball to push.

It can't be pulled with no line tension.

Sorry, pull away obviously. If so, no need for both in my opinion. I'm using only Wichard, works well.
