Moses 873 or 1100 for wing foiling

Postby Wazza Foil » Tue Feb 25, 2020 9:24 pm

I have the 873 and compared with Axis 102 HA wing the 873 is much harder to get up on the foil.
So wondering if Moses 1100 is a big improvement over the 873 for Wingfoiling? Anyone?

Here are a couple of comments from Gunnar from one of his YouTube videos comparing the Moses 1100 and 873.

How thick these both wings are? Cannot find info on them.

Moses do not usually publish the thickness. Will need somebody to measure it.

Would the 1100 wing be good for foil surfing as well? I’d like to learn how and being able to use most of the setup I already have would be great.

Go and check on Moses website which bolt length is required/supplied to attach the wings. Whenever there was any significant change - Moses made sure to require shorter/longer bolts (for same fuselage)

P.S. I had a minute to do that myself.

1x W720 - Carbon Front Wing 720 Balz Pro
3x Flat Head Screw M6x25mm

1x W679 - Carbon Front Wing 679
3x Flat Head Screw Torx M6x25mm

1x MW633 - Carbon Front Wing 633
3x Flat Head Screws Torx M6x30mm

1x W790 - Carbon Front Wing 790
1x Flat Head Screw Torx M6x35mm
2x Flat Head Screw Torx M6x30mm

1x W1100 - Carbon Front Wing 1100
1x Flat Head Screws Torx M6x35mm
2x Flat Head Screws Torx M6x30mm

1x W873 - Carbon Front Wing 873
1x Flat Head Screws Torx M6x45mm
2x Flat Head Screws Torx M6x50mm

You can see that 720 and 679 are about same thickness, then goes 633, then 790-1000 and the thickest 873.

I'd guess the 1100 would be a better wing, though at some point volume of the wing is going to start impacting and helping the floatation :)
