You are nuts Mickey! I'd need a dry-suit for sure.

Nice work! It's the time of year for multi-sport action! Snowkite and h2o (windsurf for me) the same day. Had a good WS session on Ridgway Reservoir this weekend (social distancing, of course). Water is chilly, but the wind was fantastic!

I'd be interested joining you - it's a 3.5 hour drive - is there a way to determine wind reliably before I embark on that kind of drive? How thick of a wet suit? You can PM me if you want.

Thanks

Hey Digdawg,
Sounds like a lot of driving!
The good wind window can be pretty short some days.
It works best with SW. I only go when it s nuking, to avoid lulls. You definitely want to set up for the high gusts.
Best forecast is https://www.windguru.cz/185671
I would rate this spot as an advanced/expert only. Crazy gusts come from nowhere due to high altitude and the desert near by.
Here I got caught by a water devil that formed right behind me. As soon as I saw it behind me I dropped my kite to the side of the window to not get lit.....still.
I wear a 5mm, super cozy. :D

Hey Matt, I am sure you do! :D
Today was my last one at Lizard for the this season. Lot of water and mud.

Hey Digdawg,
Didn t mean to turn you down! This is an amazing spot worth the try. You can usually camp right on site, and if no wind, the water is packed with rainbows. Right now, I believe they don t let people camp at night due to restrictions, you can camp in the NF close by.
It looks decent tuesday n wed, I think for 9m.
