Yep, I’ve just committed to a board, foil and wing after a lot of research. There’s lots of good information out there now, so be good to to have a place here.
I’ve just kept my surfboard and 6m ( used to have an 8m as well) to fully commit.

I think it is just fine to have both kitefoil and wingfoil under this "Hydrofoil" section
Many riders doing either both, or having switched, are the same, so probably the same amount of "posts"
I was out kitefoiling when too low wind, and switching to wingfoil when more wind, and back to kitefoil when it dropped again, today.

I agree with Peter (as usual).

i already gave up on wing foiling. if it's windy, i want to kite foil and see no benefit to wing foiling. wing foiling = bigger gear, heavier gear to carry, higher winds required...i.e., think windsurfing. there are those that enjoy it, but they don't stay out long. tougher on back, arms, shoulders. it has it's place in non-kiteable spots, but for me, no thanks.

In other news there is also no inflatable doll or windsurfing section. Some may be surprised that kiteforum.com is about kites. The various socks from the brands will just have to find some other avenue to push their latest gimmick for more money.

I deducted the number of forums, don’t want to increase.
There are only few wing foil topics, which fit fine into hydrofoil, since it’s the same board anyway.

If "Kiteforum" wants more participants, adding a separate wing ding section will accomplish that by attracting people interested in winging......and they are not kite foilers. They are foil surfers. This may sound weird but winging is not a wind sport, it is a wave/swell sport. It is exploding in popularity among prone foil surfers who see an easier way to get to waves on windy days and SUP foil surfers who are tired of paddling into the wind.
If you leave winging in the hydrofoil section, a lot of the discussion with be comparisons to kiting. Which is totally boring now and unproductive. Give it its own section and try to get foil surfers to participate. Winging is at its infancy with so much development going on right now. The second generation wings are supposedly amazing improvements, for example. The wing specific boards are coming out and getting smaller. And of course, the surf foils are evolving. As the gear evolves, there is no doubt in my mind that anyone with any interest in foil surfing will be winging at some point. They just don't know it yet.
If you want to limit your participants to kiters, you are absolutely going to lose people who seek winging discussions elsewhere online.
