Time to spare, time to change

Postby jumptheshark » Thu Mar 19, 2020 3:52 pm

Love the simple civil nature of the time to spare post from Flyingseb. Props bro.

Don't really have the back yard space, but if I manage a mo in an open place without cops around, will post in that one.

Got me thinking what other constructive things could we be doing with our time.

Isolation will likely make us all a little grouchy. For many, even more than usual, these online communities will be a big part of your social fix. I wonder if we can make it better than it has been the last well, couple years.

I've set a personal challenge for myself that I will not let my tone become derogatory. Beyond the odd innocent joke or humour, I'm going to give anyone I strongly disagree with a pass. No more arguments for arguments sake. No persona attacks or gratuitous insults. As long as I can manage.

Basically I'm going to try and become Peter Frank.

I invite anyone, especially those who often disagree with me to join me.

I welcome any tips on how to pull this off, as it likely won't be as easy as I think.

Here's to civility. (raising my glass)

Stay safe and may you all exploit even the slimmest of silver linings.

Jumptheshark,

I have always found your posts thoughtful and well written. I particularly enjoy, as do others
I suspect, when on occasion you've had to bitch slap certain people with facts. Please don't change,
this forum is better with you in it the way you are.

Cheers, Bob

Sounds like a noble endeavor. We're still kiting here. It's cold, and less windy, so there's only a few of us that kite this time of year anyway, so we can get on the water with no close contact. That doesn't directly address your proposal, but it's just sort of a report on the situation at hand.

Embrace the dragon brothers. 7 foilers out today in 8c air, 4c water, sunshine and 9ms. A record crowd. Epic 56N conditions. Everyone enjoying WFH and staying home with a sniffle.

What is WFH?

We were many out today just here on the other side of the small pond, waveboards, wingfoil, kitefoil, a rare sunny day that fit every style, meaning just close to 10 m/s

Just curious, as always, sorry, about what WFH is, as I have no idea....
