Well yes, memories...
Clearly Flash was one of its kind, like you don’t see often in such sports. In my opinion, he has left a big hole, that nobody was able to fill after he’d “vanished”.
Watching him ride was always entertaining, pushing the limits of the sport back then.

I know they've become the butt of jokes, but I would totally use those now. I live in sunny Florida and have a family history of skin cancer (my father has them removed every couple of months and had a melanoma a couple of years ago). I already wear long sleeve rashguards and hats when I'm out. I managed to track down Chip Wasson (I think, if I remember correctly) to see if there were still any of those out there from his company Ultra Nectar, but there weren't. May have to try and make my own from a few pairs of boardshorts or something.

I agree. Flash had his own unique style that just didn't look like anyone else. Wonder what ever happened to him...?

I think he’s still living in Hawaii, but kind of dropped out of the radar. Maybe not being anymore a Naish rider is what caused this? Also at a time it was the end of big air style, it was all about handle pass and kiteloop, a difficult turn to manage? Many professionals back then couldn’t adapt to these new figures, which brought new riders as well. Crashing loud and spectacularly became a trend.

Think I will have my mother-in-law make me a pair of kite pants out of one of my old kites.
