Hi Foil,
Interesting way of measuring the difference in aoa. I appreciate you sharing it and also your various other posts of methods of tinkering with foils. :D

There is no doubt some foil theory about all this but I haven’t looked into it.

What I do know is that I put a reasonably chunky washer under the rear bolt and rode it around for a while. This was so I could move my rear foot back without opening my stance too much. Initially I liked it and thought it was better, but then came to a realisation sometime later that it actually rode horribly, especially with speed and even appeared to nose dive at higher speed. Clearly way too much change in angle. Without shims rode much better. Your very thin butter lid shims though make more sense so I will try one or two of them out and see if feels right :thumb:

did you ever try 633 with 425? Looks like a possible good combo
[/quote]
No I haven’t. I find the 633/483 very balanced so not sure why to try the 633/425. The reason I use the 720/425 and not 720/483 is that there was far too much lift with the 483, where as the 425 is a good match.

Photos side by side of 483 and 425 stabs. 425 mounts on surf fuselage without the problems. 425 much more thin than 483.

Photos side by side of 483 and 425 stabs. --- 425 much thicker than 483.
ooops, don't you mean the other way around, the 483 is way more thicker than the 425, the 425 was last years race stab? now the 421

I tried the 483 and 450 stabs on the 720 wing and they were no good for me, no smiles at all.
had my hands on the 421 stab at gunnars shop, but I had decided I had spent too much for no gain so resisted the temptation to buy one, that is one expensive little rear race wing,
some of us (me) have to decide what really makes them happy and gives consistent fun and thrills.
I have found my answer, it's cost a fortune over the last 33 months, but it was worth the journey to discover my ideal. :thumb: :D
then 2 weeks after, bang! locked up at home. :prison: but I will be the first one to the water with the biggest smile when lockdown is relaxed,
keeping my 24 mtr distance from others of course

Ups, sorry, 425 is thinner/slimmer than 483.

I think there is no big essential difference and feeling if to mount on surf fuselage 425 or 421 or 420 stabs.

I have now used the 420 stab with the 679, 633 and 720. I like it. Have to say I was surprised. I grabbed a comparison of the 420 vs the 425 from the Moses page.
420 vs 425 (1).jpg

The 633 feels much more alive with the 420 than it does with the 483.

I had been riding the 679 (same as 683S) for quite a while with a reshaped stabiliser off the back of a KFA race foil setup and really loved the setup for everything. And then it cracked at the screw mount which bummed me out a bit but then tried the 420 and it is great also.Very loose and still nice at speed.

I do ride it on a short fuse and have not tried it on the 710 fuselage but I gather it would be similar.

Can someone who knows 3d modelling make and post few shrims print stl file for moses with few different degrees options ? Thanks
they do exist… here you can find them… bought them last year… only used the smalles one.

https://www.skshapes.com/shop/accessoires/

Much less front foot pressure with a shim.

my fastest speed with my 633 is +- 20 knots with a 12m² strutless kite in 10-11 knots of wind... without pushing too hard.
can't remember if it is with our without shimms.
I Always foil strapless.

I use the standard setup from moses, 91 mast 633 front wing and 483 back wing.

I use the F-one foilboard pocket 130 cm.
https://www.icaruskitesurfshop.com/coll ... ard-pocket

foil always completely at the back... very happy with this board. comfy pads, no seal on the rail of the board ( for me very important)
And still some volume to start in very low winds.
