The Boxer is amazing for light wind freeriding and down-the-line wave riding
Curious how the dialog went in hiring a new kite designer for Naish.
"Hello new kite designer, welcome to Naish. So as you know, world famous kite designer Damien Girardin designed all of our kites and they all function perfectly. Your job is to smile and wave at the camera and under no circumstances change the kite design at all. In time people will think you designed them"
Sounds like a pretty sweet gig.

The new Boxer just implemented the same changes as the 2020 Pivot made from 2019.
1) The valve has changed from a "Boston Valve" (external to kite) to a "SureLock Valve" (internal to kite)
2) Octopus inflation system changed to One Point Inflation System with 8 mm hoses.
In my opinion both of these are negative changes. I prefer Boston valve and Octopus inflation. So I'm glad I bought last years models of Pivot and Boxers!

hah. I love the new inflation system.
No more of the pump nozzle popping out, also having it flush alleviate any of my worry that the nozzle will puncture the canopy...I mean it never happened, so it was a silly worry. I probably have a slight preference for the octo system, but for no other reason than it was hidden...the new system seems to work fine and I have had no issues with it so far. I guess my attitude is still that I prefer to have a one pump system.
The small boxer is a great kite for foiling. The 6 is just such a smooth kite.
Love this combo. 7m is my go-to surf kite and for foiling from 14knots + and the Boxer is for foiling from 10knots.
I’m looking at getting smaller boxer for foiling from 20-30knots as my Slash is well cooked between these ranges.
Should I be looking at a 4 or 5m Boxer?
I’m 85kgs and ride a 1100cm2 wing.
Nice. My 7 slash is my favorite kite for both waves and foiling....the boxer works, but I like the slash so much. I ended up adding a 6 boxer that I have been using a lot, but I think a 5 makes sense in your case. The small boxer has a lot of range even with a big wing. I do weigh more than you, so there is that, but I think I rode the 6 in over 30 mph. I could pretty easily go with the 5 in those conditions. I have never ridden a 4 for kiting so I don't know how that would be but foiling opens up a whole new way of using power.
Agreed the Slash is a brilliant all-rounder but can be feisty with a big wing above 20kts.
To Peters point, I'm not jumping but like strapless freeriding wind chop. I feel comfortable being slightly overpowered. I guess a local issue for me is that when foiling wind swell, one can end up travelling the same direction and almost the same speed as the prevailing wind. Light, floaty kites seem to be the choice locally.
I'm thinking of getting a 5m Boxer at this stage. There are some good Covid sales on at the moment.
Did naish start making good kites? I always remember them being way too heavy with lots of graphics with heaps of things on the them that shouldn't be there. Last kite I tried like 5 years ago was the Park. What a piece of shit. How do you ride waves with it? It is always pulling or falling out of the air.
Then what about those funny bird kites... someone ended their career on that one certainly
