1. Self-insure. In the last 15 years I lost my money twice (hurricanes). However, all of the other times when we visited I saved the cost of the insurance (which I don’t buy). I am even, more likely ahead.
2. Book your house just a couple of days in advance. Best protection against hurricanes. Would have helped with covid too.
