I am in the market for another 9mtr foil kite,
I am at flag from October to April, is your team planning to return to flag beach again? I would love to get a go on the 9 or 11mtr sonic 3, or both even,
have you any agents here in the uk who will have a demo sonic 3?
If you're ever over in Southend, Essex, let me know, I have a 15m you can demo.

I have come away from the large foils now, 11mtr is large enough for any wind on the foil board, and 9mtr seems to be the right foil size for most conditions, and the most fun for speed and boosting, I have the chrono v3 Ulight 9mtr, but due to it being my go to kite for 90% of water time and sailing most days for 6 months then a spare 9 makes sense to me, and the sonic 3 looks like a great partner to my chrono3 ul.

Aloha,

After more than 10 sessions on Sonic 9 and maybe 5 sessions on 15m I'm more and more convinced that in usual gusty/shifty conditions on nearby lake spot my preferred kites are Sonics this year. My so far favorite 9m Soul is resting.

It's unbelievable how Sonics are eager to fly. Big wind shifts throw my kite many times into the water, often melted and tangled, and miraculously, after less time and much less input from my side the kite relaunch. Several times without any input from my side.

Watertightness is excellent. After 20min lull 15 m relaunch with just few liters of water.

Until now relounchability is around 95% and imho 100% is possible (with Sonic to hardly managed 50%).

One line relaunch 2 or 3 times. New drainage sucks water from the kite like from a firefighting airplane.

The tips collapse from time to time - easy recovery.

Happened once, when I landed directly under the kite, it drifted perfectly maybe 10m back (on 17m lines).

For sure, thicker profile helps, but there is something more, that keeps canopy in shape with slack lines.

I like the way it turns - radius is bigger than on previous version, but if you want to pivot, just pull one steering line.
Jumping - I'm still looking for the best timing and expect slightly better boosting.

In my opinion kite control in gusty winds is easier, however for 15m race bar for foiling is a must have for me.

Until now, after 40h on the water - I did't touch the mixer yet.

Congratulations for the designers. Was worth to work on it so long.

Tadeusz

Wow I just got to try the new Sonic! What a kite. It's like the pinnacle of performance. Pity I can't afford one :( I wonder if Flysurfer has considered selling kites differently? I just got a new 12m foil kite from another brand for $498 delivered.

Nice selfie from Lukas, shows for what it is designed for.

There will always be brands that can produce cheaper. That is also good for the market.
We push hard to offer best value for money with a long living product. We focus in quality to make next level products as good as we can with our Team.

Thank you, Armin

My 13 is closed in the bag for the moment, Covid rulez. Maybe in one or two weeks it will be possible to kite again, can't wait to test it!!
Thanks Armin for your posts, very appreciated.

Looks like the Sonic 3 has good jumping potential.

Here is the 11m Sonic 3 with 35seconds of hangtime
