Forget Europe in the winter. Cold water and weather at most places. I moved to Barbados 23 years ago and don't want to go back to Europe. Life is not super cheap here but affordable. It ticks all the boxes for warm weather, warm water, wind year round, surf year round, great kitesurfing in waves, friendly people, good local scene good medical service and immigration easy to obtain for retirees.
Let me know if you need more info...

Perth, Australia; Coco Beach FL; Corpus Christie TX; Lisbon; Barbados; Grand Cayman; Maui; southern France; Vietnam; Philippines; Sardinia; Puerto Rica; Columbia; Grenadines.

Those ares single sites. Two winter/summer site combos are too many to list.

Greece: only good 4 months of the year

Perth: too sharky

Worried about not speaking Thai: Thai is the easiest language in the world to learn, there are no tenses, there are no conjugations, literally nothing changes. Once you learn a word in Thai you know how to use it in all contexts. There are a couple things that change based on the speaker's sex but that's it.

What's the residency limitations for Brazil? It looks amazing but if you can't stay full time (without marrying a local) what's the point

One really nice thing about Thailand is you can get 10 year visas if you are over 50 years old and you can bring your wife even if she's under 50.

Jupiter FL looks like a nice place too.

Yeah, and we have monster spiders lurking under the bed, brown snakes hiding in the kitchen and crocks in the bathrooms ;)

Other than that too expensive anyway.

For the US ppl what's wrong with Maui?

Maui is great but the cost of housing is very high. Most condos are over $500k and $500 a month maintenance fees.

And the main island?

The EU is not for me any more. Sorry. I love the relaxed and laid back ppl even the police and high politicians. It is not uncommon to have a relaxed chat with a premier of the State in the bar. No security or anything.

Which is unprecedented in almost any EU countries, and more in Asia/America's.

We went through Corona like a piece of cake. That is unprecedented in West countries. So happy that we live here.

so..
about same price for a typical condo in cabarete?
(that you could rent for 5-8x more what you get in DR)

I spend a bit of time in Indonesia (Mostly Bali), it is so cheap and has some great spots. Once you are out of visa - off to Vietnam. Then back to Indo then pop over to Perth.. Then off to Sri Lanka.

It's a great way not to drain your life savings fast. I used to go to Maui a lot but you can can spend about 5th of the $ elsewhere and I don't find it like it used to be , just so $ orientated - like it has it's own class system these days.

French Polynesia/Polynesia is really epic but expensive. Venezuela used to be awesome - too dangerous now. NZ is really fun in summer if you live in a van travelling around.

Brazil sounds so epic, 20 years I have been saying I will go visit friends there, still never been to SA either, about time.

There are spots that are still uncrowded and cheap. You really do have to live the Endless Summer. -sounds good to me.

MIssed out on a big mission because of the Plague :-( kiting mission to some of most remote places on earth that you can only get to by boat. I am still crying.
