Core xr5 9m or Rebel 2020 10/9m

Need to find a new kite after I sold my 10m 2018 rebel for tomorrow's 25 knots.
Should I get used Core XR5 9m for a good price or a new Duotone Rebel 2020 10/9, I still have my 12m Core XR5 for lighter days.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!

How heavy are you? I think the xr5 suits heavier riders better than light riders as it's get a fairly grunty feel.

The new 2020 rebel is a little better than the one you sold but given that you sold it, it sounds like you want the xr5 anyway.

68-70kg, I tried the rebel with the core sensor bar but is wasn't as good as the click bar. Also I am thinking about 9m instead of the 10m that I had.

Depending on what you're into, the XR5 should be plenty fine. I guess it depends on how quickly you can get either of the kites for tomorrow's 25kn? The best kite is the kite you can use tomorrow

The wind came in 20 knots so I used my Core XR5 12m and it was a very nice day. My friend came with his 2016 12m rebel and I was reminded how good the Core canopy holds over time, after the session I bought the 9m XR5, price was too good to let it go:))

Also I took a ride on the LF Legacy 141x43 and was not thrilled. The board felt cheap and far away from Duotone or Naish boards.

9m xr5 was working for me yesterday when people were 12 rebels 17-24kts

Brilliant. Remember that thread a couple of years ago with people throwing disbelief at the guy who was jumping 16m on flat water

I'm guessing the trees might give a little extra updraft?

Back to the thread. We measured the split points between the core and click bar once. The core bar is about a metre lower. The main difference between the two are the lines. I think the duotone lines have more stretch in them compared to the core lines so you get a fractional extra delay in steering response.
