I am tempted myself to buy a 9mtr Aurora V3 at 269 us dollars free delivery, paypal assured payment,
what can you loose?
a front wing for my foil is 50% more expensive.
a better bet than an old second hand chrono v1 that may destroy your foiling dreams on first drop in the water as it sucks up the water,
second hand foil kite? only buy after a try.
or from a trusted friend is my advice.
or after looking at the new Aurora 3 more closely, realy? new kite for peanuts where is the risk?
it will be a cheap christmas pressie for me for sure.

Why not both? Get a new Pansh Genesis. Learn the skills on the $99 kite and then fly the better one once you are less likely to trash it?

good to know. Sounds like I should stick with 2nd generation sonics/chrono's at this point. I know ozone just revamped their whole foil kite line for this year. Sounds like there might be a few second generation kites on the market this year as people upgrade.
Foil,
that's another good point. I feel pretty comfortable looking over LEI's online and I know what questions to ask. foil kites are a whole different thing.
I was also looking at the genesis/aurora setup as I could get 9-12m kites for around $200-300 shipped. that's a pretty hard deal to pass up. When I was comparing prices before that was for an ultralight 12m A15 around $550. How is the aurora 3 performing? I've heard that 2 is better than the 3. as far as sizing goes, for an aurora 2/3 on a warp speed wing, what size would you recommend? I'm liking the idea of buying a cheaper kite to learn on/trash rather than shelling out for something right away.
The aurora seems to be a bit higher aspect than the A15, from what I can see, aspect ratio goes like this: Genesis -> A15 -> aurora -> aeolus
so then Gensis could lead to a peak4 or a hyperlink, and an aurora could lead to sonic or chrono, obviously those last two options are a lot higher aspect than the aurora.

I think you can get caught out with some problems with second hand foil kites. I know I have spent a lot of time with my Sonic getting it flying right. I have spent a fraction of that time with the Pansh A15. I was actually surprised how good the quality of the Pansh seems. Flying it it is a very different kite from the Sonic or Chrono. It is more freeride which is what I wanted. I must say though it flied fine without any of these mods. With them they have made it a much better kite and the performance now is actually closer to the sonic.

I am asking myself the same question. I appreciate all the good responses this has generated.
For me options from cheaper to more.
1) Pansh Genesis->Aurora->A15
2) Used Chrono v2, Sonic 2, Hyperlink V1 (One generation older)
3) Peak4 8m or 11m
4) Soul, Hyperlink v2, Chrono v3, Sonic3
I know this covers a huge range of the foil kite market. I have enjoyed reading about people loving each of them.
It is that ultralight 9m/12m A15 price that is getting closer to the other options.
What sizes are you thinking? What conditions/wind speeds do you want these kites to fly? Are these kites supplementing or replacing kites in your current quiver?
I am looking for a lower wind foil kite to supplement my 5m Peak4. Moses 633 (1200cm^2), 85kg/190lbs. I am at midwest USA inland lakes with gusty/changing conditions. Our launches aren't large. Launches have trees around and along the shore. The 5m Peak4 has been amazing for being an easy foil kite to learn, handles lulls well and does well looping to waterstart.
