First impression of Gong M Pro

Dear all,

I just got my new Gong FSP 2X 4.6 Foil Board and would like to use it tomorrow.

Question:
a little in front of the front footstraps, there is a big black Screw. one of those plastic 6 corner screws (pretty big).

do I need to do anything with it:
close it before surfing, opening after surfing.

Simon I have used the new gong fsp 2x 4.6 last monday for the first time and I did nothing with the screw. But I was also wondering where is that screw exactly for.

It’s an air vent screw. For protection against delamination. That’s what is written on their website. I think you don’t need to do anything with that screw.

If necessary, the air vent valve can be removed for cleaning. use an appropriate size socket and unscrew anticlockwise. the valve can be dunked in fresh water to wash away any salt crystals that may have accumulated. be very careful not to over-tighten the valve when refitting, finger tight is enough to seat the rubber 'O' ring. It's a good idea to rinse the valve area of the board with fresh water occasionally , then the valve assemble stays salt crystal free.

I do Not have a socket big enough, so just hope Gong Factory screwed it in good enough , for ready to use.

it will be screwed in fine ! ( it's quite a large socket, and the socket needs to be thin walled. )

Can you check what is the total height of assembled Gong M pro foil, including the to plate, when standing it on the floor? I am trying to find out if I can get away with 90cm mast as I am lazy and I like to keep my foil and board assembled when putting in in the back of my car. This wing looks like it has a bit of a curve and I think I will need to settle on 80 cm mast to be able to fit it in assembled.

0.99 cm (39"). This includes the curve of the front wing.

I'm happy to say that it fits fully assembled with the board (3'6" Dwarfcraft) into the back of my Kia Soul, which is very handy as I never have to assemble & disassemble it.
