Possibly you might need a larger kite or foil. It is pretty windy there all year. Summer being the lightest winds. Corpus is 2 hours away and they seem to all ways be windy.

Theres been plenty of wind in June and July past few years. Definitely worth bringing gear.

Allot of options year round, if not blowing on the island then head to the ditch (shipping channel on way to Brownsville) as it picks up much more thermal wind and has a good fetch on SE winds.
