What were you considering using it for - which type of riding, conditions, rider weight?

I am 75kg and would use it for Wingfoiling and SUP foiling. Currently use 1100, 873 and 790 for these activities.

Just got back from my first Wing Session the the 1000. 5M Wasp, 82 Mast. WOW! Pretty much the same lowend of the 790, but a lot faster, and pumps more efficiently.

The setup feels super direct compared to the 790. It reacts instantly without any lag when you kick it. The upwind angle is insane compared to the other Front wings. And what is even more amazing is how easy it it to ride. I thought it would be a lot less stable, but it is like on rails when going straight, but if you want to turn or carve it reacts instantly. So much fun.

I can't wait for some proper windswell to downwind on this setup.

Hi guys, how do you compare the 873 to 1100, please? Would very much like to hear feedback from people using both like you two

I've ridden both back to back and they are very, very different (ridden them winging). The 1100 is fast and stable. I actually think the 873 has better low end and it is very hard to control at speed for me. Like mentioned above, the 873 seems to work really well on catching tiny bumps and smallish waves. If the wind is light, and the current is flooding, so flattish water, I grab the 1100 for better upwind ability. But if the wind is light, and the current is ebbing, so that there is river swell, I grab the 873. On the 873 I get on the swell and park the wing and can pump/glide a certain distance. I'm working on connecting swell after swell and trying to extend the parked wing riding.

The 1100 is a much more practical wing, and I've had it out in close to 30mph winds. the 790 and even 633 is way, way more fun in stronger winds, but the 1100 can handle it much better than the 873. The 873 for me is really a beast when overpowered.

Lastly, an annoyance with the 873 is that it is incredibly floaty when in the water. It takes some serious physical strength to push the wing underwater. In fact, when I ride it with a microboard kiting, if I fall the board sits straight up in the water like a tombstone. Very odd looking. That is one super floaty wing.

I'd have the 1100 as a lightwind foil for winging. I'd get the 873 if you have money to play with and want a varied experience from time to time winging.

I have commented before about these to wings as I have both. My comments were when I used in combination with the 483 stabalizer now I use the 420 stabilizer and the improvement is significant.
The 873 is now excellent and as good as the 1100 for it's purpose. The 873 is now easy to pump, it's perfect to learn jybing when Windwing and nice and slow for down wind lake swells.
My 873 is now a keeper and I am looking forward to trying it in small surf SUP foiling.
The point a different stabilizer can change everything.

Surprising to see that the 1000 with only 1100 sq cm really works for wing foiling. I’m not a big fan of the 790 specifically because it gives up a lot of low end while at the same time not adding that much top end over the 1100. Granted it does turn/carve a lot harder than the 1100. I was hoping to see Moses come out with a high aspect foil in the 1600 sq cm range for wingfoiling and prone/SUP surf/downwind riding

Of course maybe my technique still sucks. For just riding and jibing it doesn’t matter much but for tacking and 360’s in wingfoiling it’s like I’m trying to have as much speed going in as I can, and as low a stall speed as possible when I exit to maximize the odds of finishing on the foil. The W1100 and my Gong XL pro have both done a good job of providing decent hi and low end. Just harder for me to tack and pull off 360’s on the 790. I’ve been tacking for awhile and just starting to make a few on-the-fly 360’s with a wing-a-ding

However don't use surface area as a metric for comparing the foils, it tells you virtually nothing about the range of the foil. AR, Span, Profile and volume all play a larger part in stall speed compared to surface area on its own.

For me The 1000 und 790 are for windy wavy days. The 1100 is for those flat water trick days.

I am ok on the 790 but the 1000 maybe worth obtaining?

A bit more, last weekend it was 30kn plus gusts so I was on the Moses 683 and 3m Cloud W1 and all good.
So wondering where the W 1000 would fit?
I now have Clouds W1 3, 4 and 5 windwings.

+1 for the low end question, say 5m and 80kg person, please? Or compare it to other Moses wings low end wise, please. On Moses website they rank 10/10 for lift speed for W1000, the same as W1100!!! So how should I interpret this?
And on another note, is the 1100 really a dud in swell riding due to turning speed?
