I'm considering getting the following kit
https://www.gong-galaxy.com/en/product/ ... lu-carbon/ in size M and a short mast to get into foiling.
Anything I should be aware when getting a compatible board ? What are you guys using ? I'm currently considering a Slingshot dwarfcraft 4"6
Cheers

I use mine on a Dwarfcraft 3'6". Works perfectly.

I am not sure:
But dwarf craft 3.6 has the US boxes all the way back ,, compared to straps.
The 4.6 has the boxes more forward compared to straps.
This might be a problem if you are light, and want to go straps.
I compared pictures three month ago, so not sure anymore.
I have same freewave Foil with the Gong 4.6
Never tried (long time strong wind, and now some pain ripps after crashing super stupid)

Certainly, the 4'6" has the mast track further from the back of the board than the 3'6", but not sure if it is actually closer to the strap positions. Hard to tell from pics without precisely measuring both. The plate for the Gong has holes allowing for a further rear placement of the foil, so I'm pretty sure you would be fine.

You're not being unreasonable. I have found communications with Gong a bit problematic. They reply pretty promptly & courteously, but don't seem to properly address the question asked. On the positive side, they do seem to be gradually expanding their line to include more & more options & already have probably the most comprehensive variety of masts/wings/boards options available.
I did just that I bought the M-Pro combo and asked to swap the mast for an 80cm and they obliged without any issues.
Can you PM me contact email for the sales rep you were dealing with to get this sorted? I might have drawn a short straw when contacting the shop and the rep I am stuck with is not willing to budge.
I did the other way around last year when I wanted the 80 mast instead of the standard 65 which was delivered with the Rise. As the complete foil pack with board only was available in the surf category I wanted foot straps as well. Everything was delivered as I put in the comment while buying.
Note, link is outdated as this was from the website last year.
To have it with a longer mast you need to add 10 € to the order using this link :
https://gongsupshop.com/epages/box1707. ... /GON5FDP10
Then simply specify in the order that you would like to receive the straps ( for free ) and the longer 80 cm mast.

Yesterday my friend set up his new Freewave (curve) kite set up. I noticed right away that he had the 40cm kite stabilizer. Mine has the 40cm surf stabilizer!
Gong must have changed which stabilizer they include in the kitefoil freewave setup, because in January when I ordered the same setup, it came with the Surf Stabilizer.
I went out on his setup on a 135cm board ( I built it) and it felt different to me. But it's hard to tell with different board. Had less roll and especially yaw stability. More lively.
He is beginner just learning to fly back n forth, struggles on weak side. But he was very pleased and big improvement on the LF foil fish he was on.
Efter session we switched stabs and hope to get out tonight. I think he'll find surf stabilizer easier.
Note: wing was totally silent out of the box.

Still i can't understand their market policy, every year quite all new products are available only from about middle of summer, when people clearly would like to buy it in start of summer. Very strange.

Reading their forum, they have been taken by surprise with demand 3x than expected. The pain of success with right products.

Today I tested the 40cm kite stabilizer on my Pro M and regular board. It was only 30 min session in light wind, but it was very different from surf 40 stab. Much less drive in turns and seemed to lose grip in tacks upwind. Also noticable less pitch and yaw stability, to no apparent advantage.
I'll need more time, but first impression is the surf stab is better. With surf stab a
I can push foil around with more back leg and kite stab would wash out.
I'm wondering why they made this decision.
