why the Airush Collar , the Baseplate has 3º?

Shimming the plate allows you to change the angle of the foil wings for more or less lift.

Its not directly about more lift, its about the angle the board is happy at.
Airush / AK has a zero degree for surfing and 3 degree for kiting.
The 3 degree keeps the nose of your board up a little higher making touch downs easier to recover from.
When I jump on a zero degree I find my nose gets caught up a tacks from time to time, but I think in the end its just what you get used to.
