Is the Penta TX cloth same as aluula? Or something different?
Don't think it's Aluula, looks like a marketing term for yet another Teijin product.
There was D2 (2) dacron
Then there was Trinity (3) dacron
Then there was Quad (4) dacron
Now there is Penta (5) dacron
Can't wait for Sexa (6) dacron
Trinity ans Quad are canopy spinnakers, not Dacron, but the Penta is a nice continuation in the marketing language
It is a dacron, but different. Different yarns, different coating. Correct, not impregnation like dacron, but coating like canopy. It's not as revolutionary as the Aloola, just a big evolution step. Not coming from Teijin, btw.

It would be a strong coincidence that two companies developed a very similar material at almost the same time, but who knows. We need more information from Duotone.
I know duotone was testing kites with aluula last year... so wondering if this is it, or if they eventually decided to go a different path for the material. Or maybe an intermediate step since aluula material seems to be in short supply... Interesting anyway to see the evolution!

Well in the last diversity magazine from duotone it was mentioned there were other lightweight materials they have been testing and going into production. My guess is it is not aluula. Maybe next year. It wouldn’t surprise me to see an aluula rebel in the future.

ALULA is in extremely short supply (OR can barely get their demos/orders out), so extremely unlikely it's using that new fabric.
Also Duotone sells much more kites than OR, so low chance they would use a fabric that has such limited availability
I would assume ALULA is a brand name and anyone that uses it would market it heavily, same as OR.

That's my guess.

Sorry guys, but Duotone does not want any detailed info online before they make it public.
Once official all will be posted on here.

Does it matter ?
Someone I know who apparently held a duotone aluula prototype in his hands... and that was almost 12 months ago...
