Yeah Tom, your stuff is always so ghetto!
I´m not very good at irony. My friends always pick on me about that. But either way, thanks!. I´ll post some photos to prove i can roll with the ghetto style...

Haha, I get why...but still find it a bit funny that you built a split board and then put the entire thing fully assembled with mast attached into the back of your wagon :D

Nice work on the board, of course!

Good idea to mount it from the bottom side. Is this kind of a V shaped split-line?

thats a beautiful build. Pro level skills!
If you increase thickness you'll get much more stiffness. Your core is heavy, so I'd look to use 80kg corecell as core. I'd use the beautiful 80g textreme and 200g twill cf and 2 layers of 100g uni d cf each side, full width to avoid kinking that textreme. You dont need all that triax.

I'm building another split board, but its way ghetto compared to your build! I'll post picks when its done.
...The layup sounds good. I´m not yet sure with the core as there are some alternatives I could try: Milling out triangles or rhombs and covering the core afterwards with 4 mm balsa sheets for example, or building a super light balsa core, corecell of course will also work. A conacaved deck would stiffen this a bit too but with the need of extra reinforcements in the split area (0° fibre). I also would like to remove the bevels on the bottom side and built really round rails; some days ago my leg told me that 8mm radius is not really much... :o

So much stuff to try...

Micha

I never take it apart. Intended for air travel, but none of that now...

Hi BalsaMichel! Are there any special features working with textreme in comparison with plain or twill CF? Espesialy applying it on curve surfaces

Hi!

This was the first time I have worked with Textreme and my board has only Rocker/scoop but no concave so I don´t have much experience here. I´ve seen a board with Textreme wrapped around a rail with quite sharp and curved edges, so it seems to work "somehow". The photo shows what I have realized up to now. Lamination in the split area happened without any problems, the precut of Textreme was a full sheet 800 x 500mm, no offset to the splitline or so . My feeling about this is that "middle curved" surfaces like scoop in combination with a concave will work without having many problems.

Hope this helps.

Thank you very much. That definitely helped. I was wondering how will it work on rails. Now it is clear.

If you´re on facebook: There´s a group named "Board Building". If you join it (it´s a private group so you would have to join it to read the content) you will find some threads with fotos, a few days/weeks ago.
