NYKiter had a bad experience but wasn’t using the Foilmount system, only the adhesive I believe..
I seriously considered initially to save a few bucks. It’s a great idea, but I definitely prefer a specifically designed foilboard with tracks. Lots of 2nd hand options around these days. Peace of mind
Not expensive to get tracks inserted in an existing board.
I've used it and it worked great. Exactly as advertised. I put it on a beach dog skim.
The problem with putting it on a surfboard or fiberglass board is exactly what you experienced. The foil mount is so strong that while it will hold the foil the glass/foam bond isn't as strong and became the weak link. Sorry about that!
I've ben using it for 1year (about 40 sessions so far), rock solid, very happy with it.
Allowed me to get into hydrofoiling spending not much, and now after having progressed I feel could take the next step and buy a dedicated pocket board.
I think with kite-construction boards it is pretty safe, specially if the area is almost flat.

I am trying to find this countersunk nuts like yours, where did u get those?

True. The board my friend destroyed with a Foilmount was a Slingshot Celeritas 5'8" surf-directional, which is an EPS core with a factory skin. The skin separated from the core and the entire bottom of the board is now a big air bubble.
