Valve repair

Hey, I just changed all the valves on my ozone enduro everything was pretty easy until the last part. I can’t find a way to fit the valve in the hole in the Dacron, in the position that it’s supposed to keep it in place. Is there any trick or way to make it fit? I bought the self stick valves online. Thanks!!!

The valve should have a "lip" at the bottom section that the dracon slips under to keep it in place. Some valves are easier than others to seat.

Use some force. You can also pry it with a small flat head screwdriver but be careful not to damage anything.

What's your ambient temperature ?

The PVC valves are pretty stiff and hard to put in place when cold. Apply a little warming with a hair dryer and the valve will soften up and be a LOT easier to pull in place and get that lip on the valve shoulder through and all around the hole in the kite fabric.

Not too warm though or the stick-on shoulder may loosen, form a leak path, or come off.

I’m gonna try that, I was able to only fit one and it was when I was outside checking that everything was ok. Was pretty hot outside so that may be why

I was trying to do it inside on like 70º and then I was able to fit one outside on like 90º

I just did a value replacement and its a pain in the butt to get the last part on. I ended up using a small flat head screw driver to pull the opening open to get the lip to seat itself. The airtime values have so much backing that it leaves very litte lip left. If you bend the value/patch in half you can get it started.

I ended up using a flat head screw driver, had to be super careful because a single slip can make a hole in the strut. I’m going to try it tomorrow, hope that everything is good to go. Thanks for the help
