90cm Mast on takuma v100

managed to get a 90cm Mast on takuma v100 (1300ccm)
Got it balanced under the boardmount.
Beginner in foiling, no stress with learning everything again...
But find it difficult to ride (taxiing difficult with that wing, caus so much Lift when speed so low makes it difficult to ride, planing the board (nose gets under water when pressing down))

But find it very hard to ride, very nervous.

Question:
Do I need just practice or is there a reason, why takuma send the v100 (and other brands with those wings) with 60/70cm max?

Just practice, nothing but that

Takuma has a history for SUP foils, where shorter masts are often used.

Not as good for kitefoil.

That wing size should work for kiting. The best selling wing on the market is the Moses 633 and it's 1250 so not too far off. I have been doing a lot of tinkering with foils and building my own mast and wings etc.. I can tell you It's important everything is balanced properly so the foot pressure is not excessive in the front. It's possible you need to move the mast back or you may need a smaller stabilizer if you use a much smaller board than originally intended. Get someone who is experienced to try it and tell you how they think it rides.

indeed it took a while tweeking it.
I connected a rocket foil fish from LF and skimmed it until the complete setup ran balanced through the water when nudged.
Than I found feet position with short mast (40cm):
With front foot I found convenient position and mounted a foot hook for fixation of position.
Same with back foot.

Ditching with 40cm Mast ok.
Continued with 60cm: Flying phases.
Everything feels good while riding, convenient stance nearly no force rides - impression how nice it can be.

Unfortunately usually to much wave for 60cm, so I turned 90cm with a drawback now.

Actually I like physical training anyway, so I don't care about these coordination sessions.

But continuing struggling and get nerves, I will follow yr advice to ask a guy capable in foiling and give my setup a try.

What I describe in setup task sounds reasonable?

Yeah if it works well on 60cm it should work on 90cm fairly well. As other have said you probably just need more practice to build the muscle memory to be able to foil without thinking about it! With a longer mast the movement are accentuated so you have to react quicker to balance the foil with smaller movements. It will come.

The Takuma V 100 was one of the first Large Foils to hit the market. It has a lot of lift for its size but asos reaches its termianl velocity very quickly.

I ride it with a 70 cm mast. I ride the Takuma V 100 with the mast placed as far back on my Pocket board as possible which is not the case with other foils I own with similar surface area but are designed for less lift and more speed.
