I can't rule out that as a teenager I didn't budge the thing together in the first place so can't assume what I take out the bag now is correct.

Ah think I've got it the sleeving is colour coded either for different strains. So just need to know which sleeving colour would the stronger line..

On the water kites they used to sow on a label showing length and working load, small white rectangle at the sleeve. Red is normally associated with portside and blue or black starboard. Whatever the colours make sure the thicker line goes to the main bridle and top of the handle. Careful eyeball and confirmotary feel can usually identify.

I would have expected a thin red and a thick red, plus a thin blue and a thick blue but can't guarantee this!

PS At one point Flexi used a yellow fleck in the sleeve colour to identify the brake, think I remember the kite brake pigtail had a similar fleck. Check for this!

ok i'll have to get it all out again and check, the equalisation was a bit of a rush so also not happy with the new knots i made at the ends. I've never noticed any labels on them that give you the strain unfortunately. Thanks

are you talking about dyneema lines with sleeved ends (standard kite lines) or old flexifoil aqualines which are sleeved for the whole length (orange with flecks of purple or red depending on the strength)?

Who would have thought life could be so complicated. Just dug out some old kites ro check. Forget flecks in the sleeving that was flexi bullets. The old blade was as follows:

RIGHT HANDLE:

Top/main: Blue sleeve. Red fleck flying line.

Bottom/break: Blue sleeve. Grey fleck flying line.

LEFT HANDLE:

Top: Red sleeve. Red fleck flying line.

Bottom: Red sleeve. Grey fleck flying line.

Put simply the thick line is red fleck and the thin one is grey fleck in this particular blade.

Hopefully it will confirm what you find on yours,

Ah ha well my flecks are red and blue but i thought the red flecks were thicker so i think that confirms. So think i have attached the brake lines to the mains whoops. Will check when the weather improves here, thanks alot all!
