I wear a shred ready scrappy white water helmet. Cheap, light and super comfortable due to adjustable ratchet system.

I am prone to eardrum bursts so I pair it with surf ears. I hate wind noise as well. The worst was Gath with hard ear covers.
Note, you want to keep wind out of your ears regardless. You will all have some degree of surfers ear for sure over time....the thickening of the ear canal cartilage that narrows the opening....don't neglect your ears especially in colder climates.

I could be completely talking out my ass here but could the problem be related to the helmet being a continuous hard shell? Like any smooth surface the wind will have to accelerate to go around your head (like an airplane wing) which will increase the noise over any ear opening. Additionally a semi rigid surface will have a a drum effect that in essence makes your entire head an extension of your ear. I am using some cheap ass sport helmet with lots of holes and I have never noticed any increase in noise with it on. Mind you my wife says I don't notice anything so I may be the wrong person to ask.

Does anyone have a recommendation to get rid of noise in my Gath sfc helmet (with the ear cover attached)? Or a helmet that doesn’t make noice with ear protector for foils?

Meant for biking and other dry sports. Not sure how well they will work when wet, but if you’re not constantly falling in they should stay fluffy enough to significantly decrease the wind noise.
