I have had both ELF Joker 5 and 6 in 11 and 13 m2 sizes.

Great kites, easy to handle, beautiful in the air, and loads of powerspike.

I cant recall any UL versions either, they were, to my knowledge, all made quite light, not superlight nor standard (which is a bit heavier)

I also (still) have a jocker5 in 11m. I love it and re-discovered it this summer... excellent in TT an hydrofoil.
Stable, powerful, agile, excellent lift, limited bacsktall vs race kites, no frontsall.
Only the relauch is perfectible.

Whow,

What a kite! So stable and predictable, others were on 10m LEIs, I used 18m lines with this 13m kite, and had a ball.

Crashed it once, took me 30sec to reverse launch. For 13m that is comparable to Soul. Which I have in 10m size.

Highly recommended purchase. To be fair, the best ever for me.

Cheers

so what's the difference compared to Soul? from specs I'd think Chrono less stable but better upwind

Ummm, price? ;)

For 2017 kite with unknown usage, I would expect issues like I did have with a used Soul 2018. None of it. It is very user friendly, and after riding Edges for 6 years I was at home.
Soul is sometimes scary for my 59kg. It took me way off a number times when I was almost out of control. No depower changed this behaviour since even than it is pulling like a truck on 20ish knots. And only similar weight riders can relate to this, so please take into account.

With Chrono, surprisingly, have total control. Never felt overpowered, even tho its 13m. Others were on 10 leis.
Sure, 18m lines compared to 24 on Soul makes some difference. Still, 3m bigger kite.

Upwind is similar. But stability? Man, if mixer is off on Soul, the kite will be absolute nightmare. Tips folding like crazy. And we talking 'only' C line too long and Z too short. Which Ive created by trying to fix the issue of kite pulling on one side like badly. So took it to expert who fixed it.
That is nothing but user friendly. Look, I do not need to be expert in setting the mixer. Cant care less for it.

And than I got this kite which just works. So even if I totally shred it, still half the price than used Soul.

And jumps? Unreal. Probably outjumped my PB on 15-17kn. Not using a Woo any more, so...

Bar pressure is similar to 10m Soul. Whats not similar even remotely is packing up. I can only imagine packing a 12m S, takes double the time than with Chrono. Some would argue thats coz its air tight better. This also means water tight better ;) Double sword, this is.

Get it. Pay any price u can afford.

I can’t compare the Soul to the Chrono but I have the 12 Soul and recently purchased a Sonic2 15mtr for foiling. Blown away by the Sonic, on days where I would be iffy about launching the Soul as the wind is in its higher ranges to foil, the Sonic is a joy to use even though it is bigger. Just pull in a bit more depower and crank upwind in the gusts.

Turning speed is similar thought the Sonic having a larger span sometimes dips a wing tip as it loops. Really pulling in a steering line will have the kite pivot turning with little power. The Sonic is easier to stall, useful if you want to reposition yourself, it just hangs in the air as you get the kite deeper in the window. This also makes back stall landing easier, the kite looses all power and happily sits on its trailing edge.
Relaunch is definitely harder, but the Sonic isn’t a kite you would often drop but something to consider. That said the Sonic3 is meant to have better relaunch. Will probably sell both kites and upgrade to the Sonic3.
