Best deals out there?

Postby rtz » Sat Sep 19, 2020 3:12 am

I haven't looked for new gear in a long time but I'm not seeing or finding the deals I used to see.

I've got a new local kiter looking for an 8 and 10 or 9 and 11 setup and a twintip.

Anyone seen any absolutely great deals new or used anywhere on boards and kites?

Just not seeing the good deals that used to be so common.

Just use: getakite.us <-- it aggregates deals from ebay, ikitesurf and craigslist.

There's an article in Kiteboarding magazine saying a lot of the shops are sold out this year. With COVID and helicopter money, lots of free time many people are buying sport equipments. So if the inventory is low nobody is going to rebate things like they used to.

Best deals are usually right after the holidays, when retailers need to clear out last year's gear to make room for new stuff.

Yes, I got scammed for a click bar. I learned the hard way never pay with paypal as a friend or family even if they beg you to do so. 🤬😡

All the brands kicking the arse out of their customers now. They are proving people out and little changes now. I used to buy kites every year then had to buy last years sell offs but now they are so greedy and charge such high prices for the same stuff and same amounts of material etc they have priced me out of new kit. Will keep what I got and take it to the grave now.

I've bought most of my kites from REAL the past few years. Not the cheapest deals, but I usually get last year's kites new or used (rentals) are reasonably priced. They have 2020 Naish Pivots for around 1 grand, and they still have 8 and 11m, a good combination. Awesome kites! I have several older Pivots, plus a 2020 10m. If you can wait till November their rentals from this year go on sale. They had some North Reach's for rent that would be good kites too.
