Yes thats your issue, your safety attachment ring sits wrong. Now it can't rotate when under pressure, simple is that.

Will look later, be good if it’s that but I’m sure it is not assembled wrong. Why it would sit at that angle on the water is another issue. I use the short leash but I’m sure there is slack in it so shouldn’t be pulling.

i took one apart - if the depower rope has swelled up or has used dyneema even slightly too thick (where it loops around in chicken loop) it becomes a pressure fit and does not spin.

How can there be slack? It´s your power line we are talking about here. It´s not another issue, it´s the issue that causes your bar not to untwist. If your safety attachment ring does not sit even on the ball bearing (like in the video), it will apply pressure to one side only, causing the bearing to get stuck.

I meant slack in the leash to that connection i.e. the leash is not pulling on the clip and unseating it when riding.

Thank you for all the comments, sounds like I will get this sorted.

Are you sure about that one? I have new lines and pretty sure they are thicker than stock lines.

talking about where the 6mm/ 7mm? dyneema loops around the top of the chicken loop when you unscrew the 2 grub screw.

i just know this because i installed my own dyneema rope which i think was a little thick maybe - there really isnt much room in there!

Check a previous post where it shows the problem is in the ring where you attach the leash.

Solved it for me.
