I believe it is speed (& glide) to get up versus lift to get up

Quick s400 review: I rode the w695 and w671 all this summer with the s420 which was great. but lately I have switched to the S400 and It pushes the front wing to the next level. the W671 is faster and the w695 reacts faster in the roller while surfing. however , the s400 is a bit less stable than the s420 and has less front foot pressure.

...1000 has better low end than 1100.
How is that possible?
I already asked this in another post and think it must be very personal.
I asked the same question to a Moses pro rider (BM) and he told me the 1100 starts earlier but that the 1000 has an amazing low-end once up on the foil
I have no intention of splitting hairs here. But we do love to hyper focus on the minute details! The answer, in theory, is simple!

Low end lift is NOT the ultimate product of size alone, but size and aspect ratio (and other factors). So, lift is the sum total of all factors based on various wings, although lift is not the only factor to consider for overall foil performance. But here, in this thread, the question is "how can the lift of the 1000 exceed the lift of the 1100". And the answer, which is the same for all foils, has to do with the lift the individual foil creates. The higher aspect, the more lift created for a given size. And higher aspect means less drag, which equates to more speed.

All the math and theory aside, I found the 1000 much easier to pop on foil over the 1100 because not only is it higher aspect, but it has significantly less drag, so it goes faster sooner, and therefore is on foil sooner.

Makes no sense! And pisses off the other wingers!

So, the "non-scientific" answer is, it just does! It makes sense to me, that 1000 just jumps onto foil!

I hope that helps some.

What kind of speeds are you all getting with Moses 1000 winging ?

Speeds? Really, no idea. With the 1000 I stay alongside windsurfers who are going as fast as they can. But I can point a lot higher w/the foil (I'm talking non-foiling windsurfers).

But I'm a slow it down kinda guy, stay with and ride the swell. The 1000 is also super good at that!

1000 wing is about size of 679 so I assume it has very nice and likely better lowend being more efficient wing. I wish I could demo it.
The 1000 mm wingspan still feels a bit enormous but I gotta thank Moses for coming up with high aspect/area wings we can use on kite fuselages. We wanted them years ago so thanks for hearing us out, and to our windsurfing friends - sorry we’re buying out all your cool wings, we already did that to so called “surf/SUP” 633 in the past and we’ll take over more as they appear :)

Which stabilizer do you use with the W1000?

Thanks!

I used the 425, 420, 421 and 330. I didn't find much difference in any of them on the 1000. But they all are fairly small, and small differences were just small and not worth the effort of one over the other.

Different question for ya'll, how do you know which screw goes where for each wing? My 590 came with a sticker on the bottom which called out which length screw goes where. Now I got my 800 ( :D ) and it came with 3 screws not of all the same length. I plugged them in and I couldn't distinguish an obvious orientation. I also don't see any assembly guides for this wing, or really any wing for that matter. any ideas on where I should put the longer screw? 1x M25 and 2x M20

Just bolting the wing onto my 91cm mast, I wonder if I'll have issues with how far I can lean over before this thing will start to break the surface with a wing tip. Maybe I'll need the 101 at some point :)

20mm front bolt, 25mm middle and rear bolts on my setup.
91cm mast felt a tad short for 800 wing when edging, the 101 works perfectly
