What does open mean?
Negative PCR test 72 hours before arriving? Wearing a mask wherever you go? Restaurants open or closed? Bars?
Would be amazing if I could get to CT in January.

Foreigners can travel as tourists.
Before you needed to have evidence of owning a house there....

Toby, please stop advertising for a spot that´s already overcrowded. In the past years, it has reached a point where it even becomes dangerous. I am actually hoping that this season it won´t be that packed because a lot of countries have SA on their list of risk areas.

Advertising? Surely sharing information to fellow kiters should be within acceptable types of post on here?
Whatever happens in terms of restrictions I highly doubt CT will be filled up with tourists this January. Just the no. of flights should be very limited compared to earlier.

Cant say I do not agree with Cor's opinion/frustration. If CT was my homespot, I would be sick and tired of the amount of noobs and wannabees that come and overcrowd the area every summer. It's a complete shitshow in recent years and indeed just plain dangerous with so many people out in conditions that they shouldn't be out in. It's a world class wave and big air spot for experienced kiters that know what they are doing, have full control of their kite while flying through the air, and know how to respect the rules/right of way. Sadly, many of the holiday kiters that go there now just end up getting teabagged overpowered on their 9m kites, crossing lines with others or just flying through the air with 0 sense of surroundings or other kiters. And forget about surf riding the peeling 2-3m 15+s waves that come rolling in on the good days - it has just become too crowded to get a decent line in. The pro's posting 1312 vlogs per season of how awesome the spot is also doesn't help. Same goes for Mauritius/Manawa etc btw. Such a shame.

So glad to be home in the frozen north with Kim’s of empty beaches . I am cold tho !

This year I would not worry.
Brazil also open and not many people came, only those who always come for a longer time and those who have a place here.
So, relax and enjoy your spot.
