Curious if the favored combo will be 3,4,5 or 3,4,6 now.

Got the 6 m2 yesterdag evening - and had by pure luck the chance to ride it today, after work, before our virtuel company christmas party (850 participants)

10 to 12 knots of wind, perfect, in gusts I could have ridden a 5 yes, but I was lucky to be able to find this low wind, as yesterday and tomorrow it will be hauling again with 20 knots (but we will get awesome waves again)

In short: It does everything we could have ever dreamed about :thumb:

Flew it with std lines 21 m, and it turns on a dime, one can carve supertight back and forth, and the kite will just follow you either turning or drifting - quite opposite the 8 which can not do this whatsoever....

Can not say how much more lowend it has, compared to the 5, but I did not have any lack of power in wavecarves or jibes, which I often can have (78 kg 1200 cm2 low AR wing) with the 5 m2 at its lowest end.
It does not have the same violent (and good) acceleration as the 3 and 4 and 5, across the window, because of its size, but its pretty close, not bad at all.
And it turns just awesome, you can fly it easy all over back and forth with one hand - the exact thing the 8 was not that good at, and the 5 was splendid at :naughty:

A couple of pictures from this afternoon - I know they dont say anything about anything - I just like pictures in general.
It was around the freezing point this morning driving to work (ice on the window, brrrr), but became warm later with 6 degrees celcius - nice :D

Nice weather

Yeeeees, I like it

1½ hours on the water, and one of my rare sessions where all jibes and stuff worked, so did not get my hair wet today - THAT is rare from someone with my limited talent

Image

What a great day, I found the slot with low wind to test the 6 m2 the very first day - beautiful sun

Amazed, the 4 and 5 are the two golden sizes, no doubt, but the 6 is the missing link I think we have all been dreaming about

PS: Have never tried the Conceptair Firefly 6 m2, so don't know if just as good or better.

They are unfortunately not really accessible here...

Haha a warm 6C. That's why you are barefoot I see. 100km east of you and people are wearing gloves and hoods already in September. One extreme to the other!

Thank you for first peak 6m review. Maybe can you tell which LEI kite size Peak 6m is equivalent in power and turning? As LEI 8-9 m? Can you describe in percents how much its slower in turning and playfullness comparing with Peak 5m?

Nice photos Peter! Bare feet in 6 celsius? What's the water temp? We've had unusually warm weather in Ontario up to now. Today it was 14 C . Water is around 10 C. Comfortable enough on a foil as your feet are not constantly getting splashed with water, but most people have been wearing booties for a couple of weeks now.

I'm wondering what you think the top end will be on the 6m? My thought is to get a 6m & 4m, thinking that the 6m would be good from 10 - 15 knots & the 4m from 15 - 20 knots. I have a 3.5m Boxer for winds above 20 knots.

Would be interested to see a picture of the 4m on top of the 5m on top of the 6m to see how much bigger they are each. Also very interested to hear if the 6 and 4 follow up with a bit of overlap and can then be the perfect combo?

Right now water temperatures in Denmark are 6-9°C. Peter is a special kind of breed (regarding resistance to cold weather/water  )
Gloves and booties are used by the majority of us.

Yes, it would be interesting to try the Peak 4 6m back to back with the FireFly V2 6m.

I was also got out yesterday KBH in ~ 13 kts. Other KBHer's riding 7m, 9m, 14 m LEI !

I find the FF 6m V2 a 'fun' kite to fly while KBH. No power spikes, gives enough 'support' during transitions, drifts really well (my favorite chacteristic).
