I own frs and test it with soul back to back many times. 9m frs vs 8m soul. Imo soul jumps higher. Frs is better kite though in every other way. Its more freeride hydrofoil specific. Power dewelopment is far more contolable. This is very important on big hf wings. More like peaks in good way.

Does anyone know of a e-mail adress other than "order@kitechkites.com" to use. Have waited since the 6th of December, just to get a price on a 6m FRS. Haven"t heard back yet... Difficult when you want to buy a new kite now, lol this is what a few days without wind does.

I wrote to them on info@kitechkites.com.

Lots of snow fell this weeks in the alps, kitech might spend more time on a mountain than answering emails right now.

I had a session last Sunday on 6m FRS.12ms with gusts into 15 ms. Windfinder said 17ms. 1,5m windswell with chop on top. 20m lines , 80 kg , 1000cm2 foil, Gong veloce M.

I was very powered and at times over powered, had to drift kite in gybes it was so strong wind and big steep swells with short period. Sketchy launch, but kite inflates in air almost instantly.

One gybe I flew downwind and kite rushed to edge of window and i was on my way to a round the world. The kite luffed, inverted and crashed to the water blowing out the TE vents. I got it sorted and up again and it flew fine with the vents open. 100% rider error.
Kite works really well in high winds. I probably should have had 15m lines. It was limit of top end.

2 weeks ago I had 6-9ms session. Thats wind I would usually use my 9m hyperlink v2. Still had fun even though there were a few lulls and did stall launch. Quite impressive low end for a 6m. I even could do heel to toeside tacks, kite has good lift, upwind glide at 1200 and fast redirect. Its improvement over hyperlink 7m V1.

6-9 m/s is a lot of wind for a 6 m2 double skin foilkite.

I would have expected it to go down even lower than a single skin like the Peak, which goes down to 5 and 6 m/s in 6 to 5 m2 sizes.

Would also expect other efficient double skin small kites, to have a low end lower than the single skins, as they are faster and less drag?

Unless they are designed for high winds and range of course...

How does t.ex a 6 m2 Soul cope in terms of low end?

Quite interesting - there are very little knowledge about small (dualskin) foil kites 3- 6 m2, as foilracers never use these, and even if, it is not regarding low end.

I've been reading about you guys riding small kites in light wind. In my 4 years of foiling I don't have that experience at all. I've been on foil kites almost 3 years. Kitesurfing 19 years.
My hyperlink v1 7m can't get me going in under 7ms. Even then its not fun. My 9m hyperlink v2 9m goes down to 5ms, but again its a struggle. I'd take my 13m hyperlink v2 in 5-7 ms.
I'm 80 kg in clothes. Use a 950cm2 wìng. So a 6m going ok in 6ms lulls is impressive to me.
The peak is a different animal. Ive only flown the peak 5 on the beach and i felt it had a lot of power, probably due to thick profile.
I still don't believe the reviewed low end wind ranges of peak and ufo will work for me.
I'm not into peak because I don't want to swim in. I kite alone, in cold conditions a lot.
( don't tell me not to kite alone, if I didn't, I would have 25% of the sessions. Live in a place where there's few kiters)

I have not had any luck getting Kitech to refund the VAT (I'm in San Diego).

All the kites I've gotten from Kitech come by UPS, takes less than a week, and cost around 50 Euro to ship.

Was out yesterday in flucky shifty winds. Tried to launch 9m hyperlink v2. It luffed and fell twice on the beach finally getting tangled. Rolled it up and almost gave up.
But friend was out on lei ok.
So launched frs6m and it worked great in super challenging winds.
