the little dakine knife i have just seems too thin to get any more sizable line into it,,, found some on amazon but some disheartening reviews,,, any recommendations for the best knife with a bit bigger opening for bigger line?

I'm just curious, not suggesting that a good knife is not important....but how often does a line knife get used? Should I upgrade mine too?

I have posted this previously. Here's my favourite. Titanium (less rust), super sharp. I tape the blade and only need the Hook. I contacted the company to make a knife with hook only but my suggestion fell on deaf ears. It's expensive but it will last forever, and I figure my life is worth it.

I have always carried a Benchmade rescue hook on my vest when sailing trapeze dinghies and I've carried that over to kiting. Thankfully I've never had to use it kiting but I guess I feel a little better it's there.

I use Eezycut Trilobite divers knives with harness mount and which have replaceable blades. They come in many different colours - black is not a good choice in case visibility is difficult or someone else has to grab the knife and cut you free.

i was just looking at my dakine knife the other day and sure, it will cut the actual kite line, the thing stuff,, but what if i need to cut closer, like the depower rope or the pieces that go from bar up to where kite line attaches,,, probably stupid but might be nice to have a nice that might cut everything rather than just the thin stuff
