Hello,
I usually order from my local Duotone distributor and there are lots of items: neoprene tops, surf leashes, wetsuits, among others, that he's told me are out of stock. This has been going on for a while so I wanted to ask, if there's a Duotone representative or similar here, if this is normal for the time of year or the situation or if the stock is about to be replenished?
Thanks!

Some of the Chinese factories are in the process of changing production form recreational goods to
.......not so recreational goods.
This shortage is likely to continue, unless a US regime more friendly to China, comes into power soon.
Covid has affected the skilled work force in China. But even without its minor impact, current events would still lead to the same situation.

Yeah? Name ten.
Or wait a month, and try to name one.

Sources for raw materials along with shutdowns in our factories have definitely slowed down distribution of some of our products, but the most significant delays for us are for Ion, the 2021 wetsuit and neo accessory shipments that normally come out in September are just starting to show up, so the 2020 stock is pretty severely depleted and 2021 gear may not have made it to retail shops yet. It seems that we're seeing the same thing from most other wetsuit and accessory brands out there. Everyone is doing what they can to adjust and keep shops and customers geared up.
That said I know new Ion gear has already started arriving in some markets and we've already been ramping up production in our factories so though there may be some occasional shortages in availability of Duotone kite and Ion items I think we'll be able to do a decent job of keeping up with demand through what is expected to be a pretty busy spring and summer.
For example, Evo SLS was due to arrive a month ago, but due to Covid based shutdowns in our factories we're behind on shipping them. That said we're churning them out as I write this and we're seeing them show up in limited quantities in several markets now and hope to see more coming in the following weeks. Check with your retailer for availability and ETAs in your area and I'm sure your patience as ETAs change will be appreciated. We're all doing the best we can.
