I currently ride the Atan Hot Mistral in 6.5mm and will never ride other booties again.

Tried booties from various of the large brands over the years and never liked any of them. The really thick ones kept me warm but I lost all the feeling. My Atan provide the best feel I ever had with any booties. In the beginning I was worried that they might not be sufficiently warm but they do and I ride in NE coast conditions all year round. Also love they are handmade by real craftsmen for decades. Would love to have them make some gloves as well.

i have a pair of 7mm oneil heats. in combo with a bootied drysuit my feet are perfectly warm. my hands get cold way faster. the water here is like 42F, air around the same. my hands get cold due to wind chill just like your feet.

Do not buy Solites for kiting. bought a pair. First time out, i planted foot on beach against kite pretty hard, my bigtoe punched out the front ripping the rubber material. Almost broke my toe. Sent a photo to them and got another pair on warranty.
First time out with new pair, this time whole foot pushed out of shoe and it was totally ripped.
Tossed them in the trash and let it go. A waste of money.

Update. I found some size 13 8mm solites, didn’t want to get them at 110$ us but couldn’t find anything else. So far they work great. Didn’t even bother with the mold to feet thing. I have the lightest solites they make as well for summer and they do seem fragile. I didn’t use them much. The 8mm version seems pretty beefy so far fingers crossed

You may want to think about what we use in scuba diving. To protect our fingers and hands we'll take some reef gloves and dip them into this stuff made for putting rubberized coatings on tools.

If you take your regular 5mm bootie and paint this stuff on, you'll end with a windproof, stretchy outer layer that should keep you pretty warm.
