Haha. Nice take down. Hope nothing serious followed.

I remember one of the dogs in Cabarete. Same spot "chasing" kiters along the beach for several years. One of the happiest dogs I have ever seen. He always kept his distance though.

Not funny. Here is the video too:

It happened in Argentina in a place where no one controls dogs to be leashed on the beach. The guy claims he got 18 stiches. It looks like the dog is a PitBull, a very aggressive type of dog that is known for killing small kids.

I stayed away from dogs trying to chase me on water, but caught a crab cage with a door fin at full speed twice. Interesting experience you don’t want to repeat

Pitbulls are known to kill children? What an odd statement. True that some of them are raised to be aggressive, but very little evidence supporting that they are inherently more aggressive. I grew up with one and I still haven't met a dog I would trust more. She was never exposed to violence or any sort of aggression so... Sorry to hear he got injured though. Obviously that takes the fun out of it.

Check this out: A 12 yo attacked by a pitbull and saved by a 19yo who ended up injured as well. Hundreds of cases like this. The audio is in Spanish, but the images tell all.

Good for you that yours was a lovely puppy. I'm sure there are thousands of friendly pit bulls, but in South America are well known for being aggressive, specially with kids.

Discussion for another time I guess. If you beat a dog and train it for dog fighting - it will in many cases become aggressive.

Selection bias as far as I can tell.

A friend of mine got a golden retriever that doesn't like kids. It happens.
