Hey, look at my new toy!

Postby 1234567Simon » Thu Apr 15, 2021 3:09 pm

Hey All,
I would like to open a new topic:

Look at my new toy!!!
Oh mannnnn, I am so happy that I just have to tell and show you!

Goal:
- of course beeing super proud about your new stuff - but not too much that it goes into advertising.
- getting Ideas about great new stuff, others just bought.

->no bashing, not too much discussion about one single new toy.

I hope to see many new toys!!!

Let me start:
FINALLY I GOT MY NEW TOY:

And yes: it much smaller than my first surfboard ever (slingshot Celero 5“8... great board, but just un-needed big for me)
Uh... wow: can‘t wait to try it out! Hope it is strong enough for my little jumps... and hope for a radical turning and carving „machine“

It is so much thinner than my Celero🤩

And just for the fun of it: also my old RRD from 2000

Yeah, I think the realization that volume is worthless/detrimental in kitesurfing is finally catching on! Bout time.

Another new Toy...

New Bar!
What I like:

- not being afraid the lines from the old Bar will rip
- the Price
- the „less soft feeling“ of the Lines... maybe just a feelings

- what I do not like: the straight cut offs inside the splice.
- the stupid color of the Bar. No chance for me in the water to remember what is left and right...

I even put some green and red tape .... jeahhh pretty nerdy, but heyyyy

Still hope to see some of your new „Toy‘s“

OP,

Your new toy looks to have a bit more kick in the tail but carries a little more width into the tail bloc. Be interested to hear how you find it. Nice upgrade from that crazy wing wing wing pin!

Looks sweet.

My take on it is windsurfing was always trying to find the lower limit in volume that was possible to water start.

Surfers are the only ones that think volume is of use when actually planning. And the straples kitesurfers were always trying to be surfers (just like me back in the day), so they thought volume was useful.

Just got a Appletree Malus Domestica a few weeks ago
Totally different board than the classic shapes I used to have, but really love it.
Especially in less than perfect conditions like we unfortunately have in the Netherlands, it performs really well and is good for big sprays.

That decade i lived on the beach in Carlsbad Ca , with the state lifeguards ; yep
i surfed a long-board, with a bunch of volume.

Surf every morning , and sell HG rides over a nude beach, every afternoon ; seriously
did, ((SQUAT)) for my work ethic !!
