Marketing strategy, customer perception

If a brand enters the market with a low priced product, that brand is percieved as being lower quality. This is a lasting impression and is nearly impossible to change.

Vs.

If a brand enters the market with a high priced product, that brand is percieved as being higher quality. This is a lasting impression and is not nearly as hard to change, but slowly dropping prices can potentially increase sales.

All of this is dictated by the psychology of the potential buyers. Marketing strategy always caters to the psychology of the buyer. No company can "create" a psychology in a competitive market.
That applies to the user buy and use. There is much more than psychology or perseption.
Quality of materials
technology
innovation
resale price
Personally, before spending a considerable sum, I look for quality benefits in materials and durability. Poor guy who spends his savings only for the colors or the brand.

It's hard to believe that it's only marketing or customer perception.
That would mean that people who buy the more expensive brands of kites are incredibly gullible. And that would be a lot of the kite population.

It's very likely that the parameters that PabloQ (quality, technology, ...) is a big part too.

That is why it is so easily exploited. No one believes in thier own susceptibility to marketing.

Reedin Supermodel V2 9m £1168
Naish Pivot 2021 9m £1314.20
F-one Bandit 2021 £1299
Ozone Enduro V3 9m £1244

Pretty cheap compared to similar do-it-all kites as far as I can see.

Yes they’re all expensive but wasn’t the OP claiming them to be far more expensive than other brands?

I dont get your question, its just silly. They make great kites (many users at my spot) and charge as much as the other companies which also make great kites. Why not? G (oh I dont ride them just in case you wonder if I want to pimp anything ;-)

So you're saying that every brand is the same? No matter the price?
The quality, the technology, the afterservices, waranty, ... all the same? Bold statement.

And not true in my experience.

I don’t disagree. Although 90% of kites probably come out of the same two or three factories. Maybe I am wrong, but this is so often the case.
