In Brazil I used to check the Windguru forecast whenever I planned to go kiting.
Now I am living in Florida and I’d like to know which (FREE and RELIABLE) forecast websites or apps you guys would recommend me?
ikitesurf has a proprietary 2km model (free only in the app). it seems to adjust the forcast by local conditions - at least in the US for different regions. it's by far the most accurate one and every serious kiter here uses it.
Where in Florida?
I am curious how good the NWS wind forecasts are on the peninsula?
Up in panhandle they have definitely improved over past 5 years. Still don’t predict thermal winds too great though.
I use WindAlert. They have free and pay levels.

I live in Orlando.
Cocoa beach has magical 15kt thermal winds side onshore all spring summer and fall on the Atlantic side. Maybe winter too - I’ve just never been over there in the winter.
The vast majority of Weather forcast website/App are just showing the same thing : estimation/calculation made by meteorological models.
Therefore, there is no website more reliable/accurate than another one, it mainly depend on the model prediction you are looking at (WRF, GFS, ECMWF...)
Some of the Website/App have access to specific forecast model and others don't. So depending on the region you live, you may choose a website or another.
