Rinse/Hang Gear: How do you do it in smaller spaces?

I am looking for creative ways to hang dry my gear. I am moving after 20+ years in a townhouse where I had a private back yard to rinse (fresh water dunk) and hang dry my gear. I will be moving to a townhouse that has no yard space but does have a small second story balcony and a private garage below.

I could rinse my gear in the shower (but all that sand!), or maybe in a bucket outside my garage. I will need a new way of hanging my gear. I would rather not hang it on the balcony as space is tight. I would like to set something up in the garage but would need: 1. A drying rack/stand, and 2. A catch basin for dripping water. It also can’t take up too much space.

Living in NYC in a studio, I had to learn some adaptations. I have some outdoor space now, so it's a bit easier.

The Mahalo drying rack has been great because it works on windows on the patio as well as on the tile in the bathroom

I have a double width mesh hammock which is strung up in the garage, any wet kites are dumped loosely on it to dry. And a 60 ltr rectangular plastic tub with a wood frame holding a stainless rod that the wetsuits drape over. I empty the tub of salt water every few weeks.

What gear are we talking about?

I dont rinse anything, not windsurf nor kitesurf nor wingfoil gear.

But on rare occasions when needed, say if its raining and a kite with lots of white, I simply put it on the hot bathroom floor to dry - and in the winter the wetsuit goes the same way (not needed in spring/summer/fall)

I dry all my shit, never rinse. fresh water mostly, which I actually think is worse than salt.

I shampoo wetsuits at the end of their season, but that is it.

it takes only minimal care to kite.

Maybe use a pump sprayer while you're still at the beach and let it dry naturally before packing away.

I never rinse just hang up and let dry. My harness and helmet I have a fan I throw them one to dry them. Booties and gloves I use a boot dryer. Every once and awhile I will wash my gear if it starts getting a smell.

For kites, if you leave the struts inflated and then roll the kite up loosely, you can get them fairly dry by leaving them standing upright. You do need to unroll and roll in the opposite direction if you want to get them very dry though

I'd say leave them in the bath and leave an extractor fan running to remove the air humidity. It doesn't take too long to get them dryish (good enough to stick in the car for the next session but it does take a while to get them bone dry which wouldn't be ideal if you want to actually use the bath during that time. The good thing is kites don't pong the same way that wetsuits do.

Bars, harnesses and helmets will dry on a balcony after a dunk fine. Wetsuits will dry quickly with one of those air-blower wetsuit dryers. I have the hang-air which isn't a heated model so takes maybe 4-6 hours depending on ambient temperature. Its best if you don't have a front zip wetsuit though. Its a tight squeeze to get the dryer through the small hole of a front zip.

I have a little wetsuit trick that I use because I'm too lazy to carry stuff up to my appartment, but don't like wet gear in the car. I use one of those oldfashioned buckets with two rollers that you use to dry a mop. I roll the arms and legs, becasue that's where most of the water drips to when when hanging it. This leaves my wetsuit much dryer, and I can typically put it on the next day without it feeling horrible.
