Naish Dash 2021

Postby BillyGoatGruff » Sun Aug 01, 2021 12:26 am

Anyone ridden the 2021 Naish Dash ? It gets a very very good review from Kiteworld Magazine, interested in the 9/11m. Any feedback much appreciated, currently riding 2017/18 Dash (9/11/14m) and Torch's

Sorry about my English. I had two sessions on my Dash s26 12m2 in pretty difficult conditions. I tried simple unhooked tricks and in my opinion Dash as good as C-kites. I need more time on the water in better wind conditions.
The new bar is brilliant.

The wind was to low for testing hight and hang time. Maybe tomorrow the wind will be stronger.

Tbh. the S25 is already a Banger. After rising it the first time, I sold my RPM V12's and got a full quiver. I get even even better unhooked performance out of it than of my earlier Torch's (2017).
And all the other charactistics are better anyways ;)

After testing sooo many different models over the years, I finally found my final freestyle Kite.

As a guy that has flown the RPM, RP:X, Dice, Best GP, Best TS, Eleveight FS, Cabrinha FX, and Bandit, I am very curious to know how the Dash feels. Any specific comparison to the above kites? I have the most experience with the Dice, then the Best TS.

I owned the GP, RPM and the TS and have flown the Dice, FX and Bandit. Different years though and tough to compare over time always.

Direct comparisons done between my RPM v12 und the Dash.
The Dash is certainly more reactive on the bar compared to the RPM in wake setting. When you load the RPM hard enough you get lots of pop and slack but especially the slack varies depends on speed and explosive edging. The pop and slack of the Dash is less sensitive and really reliable, you only have to get used to the higher reactivity in the bar or use the high bar pressure setting.
After landing 7/7 Back2Wrapped on the Dash and much less on the RPM in the same gusty session, my decision was done.
When you have constant winds and the guts to always load the RPM properly, it is a machine. But I liked the reliability of the Dash much more when practicing tricks in less than perfect conditions.
Plus the nice thing is, that the Dash still jumps really well whereas the RPM jumps/ loops not nearly as good hooked (especially in wake setting, so you have to change settings). With the Dash you could loop in the gusts and unhook in between without compromise.

The Dice might be a bit more comfortable for hooked in jumps/ loops but is not comparable unhooked imo. A bit more mellow overall. Even more so for the Bandit and TS. Dash has more punch but also needs a bit more precise steering. The earlier FX were shit for heavier riders imo, so that's not a comparison for me :'D

The GP offers a bit more slack when ridden properly and in the right wind range. But Windrange is smaller, hooked is less fun, and slack is more sensitive to riding speed and proper edging.

Hope that helps.

That was incredibly helpful, I do appreciate it. Sounds like a cross between a GP and a Dice. Sweet.

Some high praise for the Dash. I ride RPMs, but would like to try a Dash to compare.

I have the s25 Dash and am RPM too. The Dash is more precise, feels a lot sharper. This kite must be pumped rock hard to really shine!
