You don’t need a woo. Can just install app on garmin watch and download activity to garmin connect. Then sync to whatever (Strava in my case) if you wish.
Just checked it out. I don’t have woo or woo app.

Is there an option that DOESNT Involve selling your self to Woohoo

We're not sure we understand your question correctly but both the Kite GPS Garmin app and the WOO Mobile Phone app are free to download and use!

We're also not selling your Kite sessions GPS points to other companies if data privacy is your concern

Prefer not to have to log anything through Woo if I am honest.

Given the historic variations with height data achieved over multiple woo units and different versions why would you (as a customer) want to log accurate track data for speed etc through Woo?

If the garmin is doing the recording and there are multiple free sites that you can log and analyse the data with already why have to go through Woo?

If it’s to create you own league table etc then fine just say so. Just make it accurate and to an existing metric

That's totally fine, Matty.

Just know that we don't "log anything through WOO", if that's your concern. You can use the Kite GPS Garmin App without us "seeing" or changing anything on your GPS data! The data is solely logged through the Garmin GPS on your wrist and will end up in your Garmin Connect IQ account with no connection to WOO whatsoever. The only thing our Garmin Watch app itself is doing, is put the Garmin GPS data on a useful screen with a bunch of helpful kite specific metrics.

However, if you want to make use of that data in combination with the WOO, you can connect your Garmin Connect IQ account to your WOO account. Your sessions will then also automatically end up on the "sessions to upload" screen on your WOO phone app, where you can choose to upload them. This uploading is where we apply processing, for example to filter out GPS points jumping around or to create a GPS map of your riding including speed indication.

So, to sum things up: This free Watch app gives you kite specific metrics right on your wrist, which we think is awesome. If there are other apps that do something similar for you, use those. If you choose to use this one, you will still have all the control about your GPS data and can decide for yourself whatever website or app to use to further process the data. Here we can offer an (also free) app that does a very well job of creating something more than just your raw GPS, by letting you upload and keep a record of your sessions in a kite focused environment.

I'm probably doing something wrong...

I've just recorded a foil session using the new Woo+GPS app, synchronized with Garmin connect but, on "my woo" screen there's no Garmin option as shown in the docs.

What am I doing wrong?

Should the Woo Sports app, on the cellphone auto detect the Woo activity on the Garmin Connect server or there's a procedure to connect both accounts before what's explained in the Woo docs?

Ok, just found what I was doing wrong. We must click on upload session to access the screen to connect our Garmin account.

And it seems I've lost the session recorded today as I had synchronized the activity before connecting the accounts

Garmin devices already do this, when using woo with fenix 6 you get two recorded sessions, woo session and the garmin session, the height data is transferred along with the garmin session, what extra metrics are added to the garmin session?

The freeride Woo profile gives some other derived info such as VMG and radial charts. You can do it using other software or site, of course, but can keep all together on your Woo account if you wish .

BTW, these charts should have an option to zoom in and out as it's hard to read the info on the cellphone screen. The rider profile and feed could also be available in the Woo's website.

If I remember correctly only compatible with the fenix 5 upwards, Alex has put a list of compatible watches on the connect app.. something to do with Bluetooth comparability..
