It's good that they issue a recall if there is a potential safety problem.
I think the new qr system is a bit odd and (unnecessary?), But maybe it works great what do I know. What really bugs me is why tf no pigtails on the center lines? Pay 600 euros for a bar and go buy extra pigtails? Come on. Also the bar is quite ugly compared to the red/blue signature torque

Is the excessive wear they are talking about caused by using no pigtails on the front lines?

I just went to order a Torque 2 bar here in Australia and was told they are subject to a safety recall, the shop is sending them all back to Naish??
Anyone know what's up?

The possible hazards related to these control systems include:
a) Potential for the SnapLock Quick Release to not properly disconnect when activated; and
b) Excessive wear of the TLS 400 Flying Lines may cause potential failure.

Jeeessszz....that's a serious safety recall and that it will take approximately six months until they have something to offer. Note, there's a full refund for the bars already sold. I don't think I ever heard of such a recall in kite business where they can't offer an upgrade of the product already sold.

There is apparently a second version of the S26 Torque 2 Bar. Does anyone have any information on this? According to the description, the version pictured should also use the old TLS500 lines again. There are various pictures on Instagram showing this second version in use. However, this is not commented on there either.
I would love to use this second version because the system looks much cleaner. In my opinion, the slightly thicker tls500 lines are not a big disadvantage.

Check your local Naish dealer. Some stock of the new bar is becoming available.

It has already arrived in some shops

I also saw that the main surfshop in Sweden who sells Naish got it. Looks like a more common design for safety release rather than the chunky rough design they released mid last year. I wonder if they managed to get an OEM design or if they more or less copied something proven already on the market. Six month seems way too short to develop a new design which includes plastic molds and of course also testing it thoroughly.

I think it is OEM. Looks identical to the QR Ocean Rodeo uses on their bars, as well as Harlem kites from the Netherlands.

Dammit Naish... Picked up the new Torque 2.
Was hoping this would be a great bar after recall fiasco and the hardware on it looks great. But only one tiny loop in the bag and its not even the width of a common Mystic Stealth bar! No unhooking allowed for Mystic users!
A more minor issue: The red quick release has to move up for the click system to work so you cant touch it while reloading. One hand guides the loop. I don't know what you are supposed to hold with the other if the lines are under tension. Your hand will just slide down the PU line onto the red plastic. Not the safest.
Anyone know if there is another loop available for these bars?

QR works fine I just hold the pu as it just sits there until you insert the chicken loop but it's putting wear on the bungee and doesn't come with a replacement.
What bothers me is that its not auto untwist it is a manual process.
The old torque bar had the best auto untwist imo. Apart from the new SS Sentry V1 bar
