Hello Kitesurfing fam
welcome everyone!
I'd like to check with you a sincere advice about what better spot do you consider between the south of Italy (Puglia or Calabria) and LEFKADA in Greece?
I am looking to spend the summer holidays there with also the whole family, but I want WIND WIND WIND
lots of wind!
I read from some of you that Lefkada could be much more windy than South Italy, but really crowded.
If wonder if however there could be in Lefkada or very close to Lefkada, any place maybe less crowded?
valid advices will be greatly appreciated! thank you sooo much

Ive been to Vieste (and more generally Puglia) in the summer and while its a very nice place, it wasn't windy at all. My experience is purely anecdotal so I can't comment to what is normal, but I would check some historical data before committing to it.
From my experience If you want consistent wind in Europe go to Greece.

thanks StellaBlu,
I also heard that Vieste could risk to be not too windy. That's also why I am looking for more consistent info.
As regarding Greece, yes sure I love it. But I am afraid Greece nowadays is too crowded for kitesurfing. Maybe am I wrong? What's your advice on a good spot in Greece but not too crowded?
Thanks a lot

I have kited in Naxos, Paros and Lefkada. They can all get crowded in areas, but I have always found ways to avoid the crowds by going further offshore or going to different beaches.

Summer Options look like
Puglia: crowds & no wind
Calabria: crowds & some wind?
Greece: crowds & guaranteed clean wind everyday

thanks for sharing your advices. At this point I am not more sure if Puglia is a really valid spot because if the windy is not so consistent or frequent the risk to fail the holidays is too high.
Maybe Calabria is a bit better in terms of wind.
Greece is lovely, so many great spots, that sure! If I could find a place in Greece still virgin, or however not overcrowded in the high season (July or August) I would definitely opt for Greece
