Harness size

Postby peche2013 » Thu May 26, 2022 2:32 pm

Hi everyone,

I am trying to choose my first waist harness. I have all my wetsuits in size m and they fit me well. I have ordered two Ride Engine Saber ( S and M ). After trying them I have discovered this differences.
S size:
+ harness is not moving
- is not giving me to much lower back support as the harness is a bit smaller

M size:
+ harness is giving lower back support
- harness is giving a bit of pain in the lower front part of the ribs

Are you guys choose a smaller kite harness and ignore the lower back support? Is the lower back support really important? Should I go and try Ion Apex?

Thanks!

IMO the RE size chart is accurate I have the Elite M (34 waist) which fits great. To me lower back support is the most important factor. It will take a few sessions for the memory foam to bed in so you may get a bit of pain around the ribs initially.

If that pain is in the front lower rib area are you;
-wearing the harness to high
-not wearing it tight enough, riding up
-have you tried it in the water yet where there is some pull
When/where exactly is the pain?

Only way to really know is to try. I switched to the apex 13 due to the higher profile

I didn’t wear it in the water, just try it on in the house and keep it on me for 10 min and I felt a little pain in the lower part of the front ribs, above the belly, same pain as I had when I have tried on the water a Mystic Stealth M size. I will try to play with the adjustments in the M size RE.
