I made this board about thirteen years ago. It's pine, walnut, wood glue and tung oil, 141cm x 42cm and about 1.5cm thick in the middle with thin 50/50 rails all around.
It works okay as a flatwater skimboard if I wear shoes, but I don't know what it would do with a kite. I've read that alaia boards with similar construction have broken when kited.
If the shape is worth working with, I could plane down to bare wood and glue on some crossgrain veneer as others have done, but I don't entirely understand when a kiteboard would be under more stress than a skimboard, aside from hard landings. Maybe waterstarts?
